SAT 010: America In Chocolate's cassette EP in an edition of one

a couple of days ago, i posted a video of a snippet of a new america in chocolate song. this is the second single for nine more songs.

unlike other singles, it will only be available on a single cassette tape until the release of the album. the scarce single seems like a decent gimmick.

also on the tape are four previously unreleased songs (including the "rare" piano demo for never go outside again's "toplesspic.png") and the only planned physical release of the two versions of "cnme" from the digital 12".
i'm not sure what i'm going to do with this tape. i may just leave it somewhere.

ten, i suppose is one of those nice, round numbers people like to use to commemorate things, so maybe it's "fitting" or something that the tenth release from streets ahead tapes is the first actual tape release.

SAT 009: Matchbook Poem

This is a poem called "Book of Idea."
There is one word for each match.
It comes in an edition of five.
This is the second non-music related release from Streets Ahead.

A Pre-SAT Album (Another Archival Release)

This is the first album I made.
Tin Nurse was a band I was in in high school with a friend of mine.
The album was finished while I was also working on the first gleams album, which is something of a companion to this album.
We never did anything with the album aside from burning some cd-rs because we thought it was really terrible. It is not terrible.
On the bandcamp there is also a song we recorded in 2009 (while I was worked on Endless Teen and we recorded a live gleams ep together) and we might put up another short release from the same time soon.
For a few years we would played an annual New Year's show since that was one of the few times we and the people we knew would all be together.
We haven't recorded any new material since 2009, but I think we both consider it an ongoing project.

the cover art's above, the track list is below.
the album will also come with a twelve page pdf that included annotated lyrics, which i finished last night.

gleams reissues

As part of the run up to Eternal Hiss, I have been kind of quietly reissuing old recordings at the gleams bandcamp for free download. This includes old CD-r and tape releases that were available at shows and limited to twenty-something copies as well as recordings that were only circulated among friends or posted as low quality mp3s on the internet. These recordings stretch from 2006-2010 (I spent 2011 on America In Chocolate and 2012 recording, but not releasing anything). This reissue series began with the Endless Teen revision posted last year and includes three albums, three eps, two mini albums, and a single.
I'm working on a two volume mixtape of unreleased or uncollected material. These tapes will include covers, outtakes, experiments, live tracks, and good songs to which I lost the master files. I will release these tapes around the time I release the final archival project--Uncollected: 2006-2012. This release will see a very limited (10 copies) tape release with the tape releases of Endless Teen and Young Neil, hopefully within the next couple of months (I have the undubbed tapes sitting in my bedroom). It will be released digitally sometime after Eternal Hiss.
Here is the track list for the compilation in chronological order to this final archival release.

HISS VOLUME FIVE

Well, here's volume five as well. This mixtape series is, I guess, to promote that the name of the new gleams record is Eternal Hiss. Things that were recorded on tape and that sound that way––just like the album.
